The map features color-coded pins that denote the primary language used in worship services, enhancing accessibility for diverse communities.

Essential information about each church is readily available, including worship times, address, pastor’s name and photograph, and a detailed map of the church’s location. Users can access step-by-step directions from their current location and utilize features such as direct phone calls (for iPhone users) and email communication with churches. The app also facilitates access to each church’s website and social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube), alongside detailed statistics and trends for individual congregations within the PC(USA) framework.

Interactivity is a key component of the app; users can view live streaming of worship services for most churches and set reminders for upcoming events in their calendars. The mapping feature offers various viewing options, including 3D Standard View, 3D Satellite View, and 3D Flyover View, with additional support from Apple’s Look Around functionality for many locations.

Additional features enhance user engagement; these include a brief tutorial to guide new users, local weather updates for each church location, English translations of non-English websites, and the convenience of integrating church contact information into personal Contacts apps. A Share Sheet function allows users to share selected church details easily. Notably, the PoP Churches App supports multitasking with Slide Over and Split View on recent iPads, as well as Dark Mode compatibility for iPhones and iPads.
